Bhagavad Gita

This section presents a disciplined, verse-by-verse study of the Bhagavad Gita. Each shloka is explored through its meaning, context, and reflection, with an effort to understand its relevance for thoughtful living and responsible action.

While the Gita is a spiritual text, its teachings also illuminate questions of duty, ethics, self-mastery, and clarity in decision-making. These qualities are essential not only for inner growth but also for individuals preparing for positions of responsibility in public life and administration.

The aim of this study is not merely to accumulate information, but to internalize insight — refining judgment, strengthening discipline, and cultivating a mind capable of acting with steadiness and detachment.

I am Opendra Kumar, and this study is part of my ongoing effort to learn from the Bhagavad Gita. The explanations and reflections presented here draw inspiration from the long guru–shishya tradition through which the Gita has been understood for centuries. In particular, the works and teachings of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and the efforts of ISKCON have played an important role in making these teachings accessible.

Readers are invited not only to read the verses, but also to reflect on them and consider their relevance in their own lives.
