सञ्जय उवाच
एवमुक्तो हृषीकेशो गुडाकेशेन भारत ।
सेनयोरुभयोर्मध्ये स्थापयित्वा रथोत्तमम् ॥
Sanjaya said:
“O descendant of Bharata, after being addressed in this way by Arjuna, Krishna placed the magnificent chariot between the two armies.”
In this verse, the narration returns to Sanjaya, who is describing the events of the battlefield to Dhritarashtra. After hearing Arjuna’s request, Krishna responds by positioning the chariot between the two armies. The verse refers to Arjuna as Gudakesha, meaning one who has mastery over sleep or lethargy, indicating his disciplined nature as a warrior. By placing the chariot in the middle of the battlefield, Krishna prepares the moment for Arjuna to observe the assembled warriors from both sides.
