“O descendant of Bharata, after being addressed in this way by Arjuna, Krishna placed the magnificent chariot between the two armies.”
Commentary

In this verse, the narration returns to Sanjaya, who is describing the events of the battlefield to Dhritarashtra. After hearing Arjuna’s request, Krishna responds by positioning the chariot between the two armies.

The verse refers to Arjuna as Gudakesha, meaning one who has mastery over sleep or lethargy, indicating his disciplined nature as a warrior. By placing the chariot in the middle of the battlefield, Krishna prepares the moment for Arjuna to observe the assembled warriors from both sides.

This action sets the stage for the emotional and moral conflict that Arjuna will soon experience.

Administrative Reflection

This verse highlights the role of guidance in moments of decision. Arjuna expresses his request, and Krishna responds calmly and precisely, placing the chariot where Arjuna can gain a clear view of the situation.

In leadership and administration, the presence of thoughtful guidance can help individuals understand complex situations more clearly before making decisions. A good advisor or mentor does not impose decisions but creates the conditions in which clarity can emerge.

Wise guidance often begins by helping others see the situation as it truly is.
